Why should you join Algo?

Algo promotes the interests of information technology and software engineering students. Our main focus is to make sure that students’ rights are met. If any of these rights are not fulfilled, you should be in contact with our welfare manager (hyvis@algojkl.com). Alternatively, you can take the matter straight to JYY (link to JYY’s page).

Beside supervising your rights, Algo organizes different events for its members such as academic table parties, excursions, bar rounds, the first of May events and much more! You can find information about upcoming events on our events page or from the calendar on our front page. As a member you are also entitled to discounted products such as overalls and overall patches. In addition, Algo has contracts with different companies that provide our members with different types of benefits. You can find all the details below.

How to join?

You can join Algo if you study in the faculty of Information Technology and you accept our rules (in Finnish only). The membership costs 8€ and is valid for the next 8 years from the moment you buy it, although you’ll have to wait for the board to activate your membership. All memberships will be activated in the next possible board meeting which usually takes place once a week. You can purchase the membership here.
